Alice Gray (nee Bennett) M.Photog HonFAIPP

Alice is a Master of Photography and an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

Alice’s photographic education began before she could remember, working alongside her father photographer Richard Bennett. Richard taught Alice so much including how to photograph ocean racing yachts from cessna aeroplanes and helicopters. Alice worked along side her father photographing Sydney Hobart Yachts Races for many years including the infamous 1998 Sydney to Hobart Race. Alice to completed a diploma of Photography in 1997 at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE under the tutelage of Australian photographic legend Doug Spowart.

Prior to specialising in commerical photography Alice photographed weddings for 16 years. In this fast paced, unpredictable environment Alice learnt  to create images where the goal was to always make people feel comfortable and beautiful. Alice is able to take these skills in to forests, factories, kitchens and board rooms to always create images fulfilling the clients brief, while bringing out the best in her subjects.

Her publications include Tasmanian Gardens published by Thames and Hudson, Country Houses of Tasmania and Living in History, coffee table books published by Allen and Unwin. Bream Creek Farmers Market the Cookbook and Africa, are both self published.

Alice specialises in commercial portraiture, food photography and editorial work, and she lives in southern Tasmania on "Fulham" a farm with her husband Tom and 2 sons James and Barclay.
